Message from our President.
Rachel Taffe |
Hello! My name is Rachel Taffe and I am the 2021 President of the Epsilon Sigma chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta at UC Irvine.
If you had told me a few years ago that I would join a sorority, let alone be involved in its leadership, I would not have believed you. I went through Panhellenic recruitment on a whim, not expecting anything to come of it. Nevertheless, I can honestly say that joining theta in the fall of my first year was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
In theta I have found my study buddies, role models, bridesmaids, and lifelong friends. Because of theta, I can say that I lived in a house with twenty-three of my friends, enjoyed a weekend sisterhood retreat in Palm Springs, and made meaningful connections with fifty sisters from across the U.S. and Canada when visiting our Alpha chapter. I have been academically mentored by older sisters in my majors, pursued several research and professional opportunities that I was connected to through thetas, and gained invaluable leadership experience. Theta has given me a wonderful college experience and has helped me grow every step of the way.
Theta women do not fit into any mold; each of our women are strong, diverse, and unique in every way. Our sorority membership does not define us, but rather helps us grow into the best versions of ourselves. I am inspired by each and every one of my sisters and am so honored to be the President of this amazing organization.
Theta love and mine,
Rachel Taffe
Chief Executive Officer
